Born and Raised in Victoria, Howie grew up in the car business, watching and learning from his father who’s automotive career started in the 1960’s. In 1996 along with his parents and partners Bob and Lynne, Howie’s Car Corral was born. Prior to the automotive business, Howie spent 7 years in the Edmonton area working in the oilfields.  Howie is married ( Melanie ) has 5 children, and just recently became a grandpa!  Howie says ” I am truly lucky to have a job that I really enjoy, and people around me that share the same philosophy I do when it comes to business, treating people well and providing good customer service!”

Kevin is our head automotive technician and shop foreman. He has been working for Howie’s since the dealership relocated to Victoria back in 2000. Kevin is a born and raised Victorian and got into mechanics right out of high school. Kevin is married ( Karen ) and has 3 children. In Kevin’s down time, he enjoys summers at the lake, and winters in Mexico. If you have vehicle problems, this is the guy who can tackle your issues. He has such extensive knowledge working on all makes and models throughout his career.  Kevin is a superstar in our books and we are so happy he is ours! All of our customers agree too! Kevin says ” When you find a good thing, stick with it!”

Born in Victoria, Ron was dragged up island, kicking and screaming away from friends, up to the Qualicum Beach area when he was 9. He would spend 20 years up island fishing with his Dad, biking, riding horses with his Mom. He would trade his horse eventually for a motorbike which allowed him to explore the local lakes, rivers and woodlands. A childhood he looks back upon as the most wonderful way and place to grow up. Island’s nature is a cornerstone to Ron’s life. He is an active photographer and Scuba Diver in his off time and he is passing along his passions to his two children. Ron started in the car business in 1996 after several years of building houses and building BC Parks at the suggestion of his mother. The auto industry has been a solid path for Ron over the past 25 years. ” My time at Howie’s has been some of the best years spent so far, heading into my second decade here ”  adding ” Being a family run store that is hands on daily by Howie himself, makes it a nice place to come everyday ”   Asked for a favourite quote, Ron refers to somebody from his constructions days who said  ” If you haven’t got time to do it right the first time, when are you going to find time to do it again? “

Dave is a born and raised Victorian who began his career in auto sales here at Howie’s back in 2015. Prior to car sales, Dave had an over 30 year career in the home furnishing industry.  Dave has one daughter and two step children with his wife Cheri, who is a health care worker. With solid roots in the Victoria community, Dave says it’s crucial to align himself with a company of integrity and honesty. Asked for a favorite quote Dave adds ” I believe in putting the client’s needs first and foremost and being a good listener. I feel my objective is to treat everybody equally with the same level of courtesy and professionalism”

Allan, raised in Windsor Ontario, has been a Victoria resident for the past 16 years. Prior to the car business, Allan worked for the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corp as a customer service facilitator after studying business in school. Allan has been in the automotive industry since 2007 and joined Howie’s in 2016. Allan specializes in helping clients obtain financing for their vehicle purchases. With multiple lenders to choose from, he can ensure our clients get the best rate possible regardless of credit history. Allan is married ( Danielle ) and has two adorable daughters.  Allan enjoys sports and a couple of his favourite teams are the Montreal Canadians and the Kansas City Chiefs.

Liam joined the Howie’s Service team in April 2022 after working his way through his Automotive Service Technician Apprenticeship at Victoria Hyundai and Kal Tire. Liam lives in the Westshore with his girlfriend Katlin and enjoys the games of golf and slow pitch when he’s not working at Howie’s, or on his friends cars.

Paul came to Victoria from his hometown of Ottawa in 2006 and has been at Howie’s since 2008. Paul has had many roles at the Corral, from sales, to management, and now Parts and Service Advisor. Prior to the Automobile Business, Paul spent 24 years doing tool sales. Paul is married ( Karen ) and has 3 children and 3 grandchildren. Paul says ” Everyday is an opportunity to make someone happy!”

Mark is a born and raised Victoria resident who joined Howie’s just recently in 2022 taking over the lot attendant duties from Bert. Mark’s previous jobs have been Bartender, Truck Driver and in Property Management. When Mark isn’t keeping the lot and cars looking sharp, he enjoys golf, woodworking, and driving anything fast on wheels. Mark and his wife has bought many vehicles from the dealership, which made his decision to work here easy. ” It’s a great place to work ” says Mark.  We are glad to have him on the team!

Jesse joined Howie’s team in July 2023. With a background in I.T.  his long time passion for cars and customer service guided him to try his hand at car sales! Born and raised in Victoria, Jesse enjoys golfing as much as he can. He also enjoys volleyball, working on cars, riding motorcycles, snowboarding and going on long drives just for the adventure!  Jesse’s attention to detail and passion for helping others will surely make your car buying experience a pleasant one!
